Barrier-Free Retrofit Kit (Wave)

The Barrier-Free Touchless Retrofit Kit is a wireless wave-to-open activation system designed to upgrade an existing single automatic door system.

Two barrier-free touchless switches are installed on opposite sides of the door, typically one on the exterior side and one on the interior side. Each WB5501B contains a built-in wireless RF transmitter. When either switch detects an intentional hand wave, it sends a wireless activation signal to the WR12 receiver.

Both WB5501B switches are paired with Channel 1 of the WR12 receiver. When either switch is activated, the WR12 energizes Relay 1 and sends a dry-contact signal to the automatic door operator. The automatic door operator then opens the door, holds it open for the programmed time, and closes it.

This kit is intended for retrofit applications where installing new wired activation switches or running new control cables is difficult, expensive, or impractical.
